The original research project was funded by the National Geographic Society and by grants received by Dr. Roland Bergman from the Fulbright Commission. Additional support for the research was provided by the Peruvian government (CONCYTEC). The original journals, maps, and data sheets are now in the collection of the historic archive Instituto Riva-Agüero in Lima.
ARADO International was founded to continue work in the communities where the research took place and to aid with the problems identified by the investigation. Since 1990 we are grateful to have received the support of the Wallace Genetic Foundation, the Conservation Food and Health Foundation and the International Foundation.
ARADO International is a non-profit organization based in the United States and is certified as tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code.
